Sean looked over at 1Lt. Elbrun. He thought about what was said, and then made his comments.

Lt. Commander Reich: I think that we should wait for the Commander to come down here, and have him assess the situation. If he feels the need to have more Marines come over, then he'll make that call. Otherwise, don't touch that thing, and just let it...hang there.

He looked over to Lt. Kee, as he was working on getting the systems operational again.

Lt. Commander Reich: How's it going over there Kee? Any updates on progress?

He still awaited for the Commander to arrive to assess whats going on down there.

James continued working on the vessel's systems as best he could.

Lt. Kee: It shouldn't be too much longer, Sir. I'm running the self-diagnostics now, afterwards the systems should come online automatically.

He glanced over to the cocoon on occasion as he worked, it was so fascinating as well as bizarre.

LtCmdr Reich walked over to where Kee was working and looked at the console while the diagnostics were running.

Lt. Commander Reich: I swear, if the lights come on and something comes out of the dark, I'm going to be more than a little upset. I think now would be a good time to arm ourselves just in case. Better safe than sorry if you know what I mean.

He took his phaser out of his holster and checked the settings, just to be sure that everything was okay with it.

Lt. Commander Reich: Mr. Kee, I suggest that you do the same, we can't be over here with non-operational phasers. That in itself would be a death sentence!!

Sean walked over to look at the warp core and examined it for any damage.

Andrus looked over at LtCmdr Reich after taking a good look at the cocoon.

1Lt. Elbrun: Yes, Sir. I'll stay on high alert until he makes the call.

Andrus kept his phaser rifile ready for anything. He didn't like the idea of not having more Marines here, but it wasn't his call at the moment. The only thing that he could do was keep alert for anything. He continued to scan the area, with his eyes and 'senses', for any possible lifesigns. His phaser rifle was set on heavy stun.

James pulled his phaser out of it's holster and checked that it was still set on heavy stun. He looked over to LtCmdr Reich as the systems began coming online.

Lt. Kee: Systems are coming up now, Sir. We should be able to remove our helmets in a few minutes.

He continued to monitor the systems display as they returned to their normal operating status.

Chase entered Main Engineering to find Lt. Kee at the main systems console, 1Lt. Elbrun walking about the room looking rather unnerved, and LtCmdr Reich examining the warp core. Following behind the XO was Lt. Thompson, who was way too nervous to remain on the Bridge alone.

Cmdr Ashborn: What is it, Mr. Reich?

He waited for the SO to explain the reason for summoning him to the vessel's engine room.

Sean watched as the XO and Lt. Thompson came into Main Engineering. He stopped what he was doing, and walked towards them.

Lt. Commander Reich: Commander, if you would ever so kindly look in the corner over there and tell me what you see, please?

He walked in front of the XO, and took a couple steps forward, pointing towards the corner.

Lt. Commander Reich: I have no idea what that is, and how to deal with it. You were the first person that I thought of to come take a look at this thing.

The SO stood there, and shifted his gaze from the XO to the young Lieutenant who looked like he was just about to mess himself. Sean did nothing but stand there and chuckled a little bit.

The XO looked at the bizarre object in the corner and took a few steps towards it to get a closer look.

Cmdr Ashborn: What the hell is this? Have you had Lt. Kee run a scan to find out what it's composed of?

He waited on a response from LtCmdr Reich as he continued looking the object over.

Sean looked over at Lt. Kee, and then back over to the XO.

Lt. Commander Reich: No sir, as of right now, Kee has not scanned whatever that is over there. He's been working on getting the systems back online. After that, I was going to have him do an intensive scan of whatever that is over there. Until then, all we can do is wait.

He couldn't explain it any better than that. Whatever it was, it was huge.

Lt. Commander Reich: Also, Mr. Elbrun would like to bring more Marines over in case it's something that is still on board the vessel, because he did note that we have not seen any crew members as of yet. I don't think we need them, but that is your decision to make.

He stood there waiting patiently for the Commander to take in all this information and make some kind of assessment of the situation.

Chase looked slightly displeased and removed his Tricorder from his belt and walked closer to the cocoon and began scanning it.

Cmdr Ashborn: Since you're more familiar with Operations, Mr. Reich, it would've been logical to take care of the system restarting yourself, and had the Science Officer run a complete scan on this obvious alien object sitting in here Engineering.

The XO ran a composite scan of the cocoon, and couldn't hide his reaction. It was mortification, pure and simple. He quickly rose up and moved away from the cocoon.

Cmdr Ashborn: What the hell... The outer shell is made from human flesh! This was a person!

Chase looked to the rest of the Away Team, to catch their reactions to his discovery.
