Gus smiled at both Capt Sull and Capt Bennet as he was about to reply to what the Captain lying on the Biobed had told him regarding not letting Patience take advantage of him. But the Ensign also remembered to ask if he needed to use a leash in order to escort Capt Sull’s canine companion to the Holodeck.

Ens Montoya: I should be alright, Captain. Will I need to use a leash when I take Patience from your cabin to the Holodeck? I would not want your dog to wander off and do her business on the deck somewhere.

While the Yeoman waited for Capt Sull to let him know whether or not a leash was needed, Gus looked up at Capt Bennet and continued to smile. The Ensign was very happy to help the recovering Captain with getting her dog some exercise and to relieve herself. Ens Montoya always enjoyed having fun with large canine companions, so Gus was looking forward to meeting Patience.

Azeri smiled back at Gus as she replied to him.

Capt Sull: As long as you're firm with her, she will stay right by your side... Just... Show her who's boss, Ensign!

The Captain looked towards the Doctor to see if he had downloaded the data he required to complete his paperwork.

Capt Sull: Doctor, when you are finished with that PADD, would you kindly hand to the Yeoman, he wants a lead so he can walk the doggo.

Azeri smiled at the young Yeoman as she awaited the Doctor's response.

The Ensign smiled as he looked towards Capt Sull lying on the Biobed. Gus felt that having this opportunity would show his eagerness to be a great Yeoman for those who needed his assistance.

Ens Montoya: Yes, Captain! I will do my best to make sure Patience is a happy dog when I return her to your cabin!

Gus turned to Dr. Edison and waited on him to hand the Yeoman the PADD that Capt Bennet brought in to Sickbay and handed to the Doctor. Once Ens Montoya had the PADD he would be on his way to Capt Sull’s cabin on Deck 1 and retrieve her canine companion and proceed to the closest Holodeck so they could have some fun together.

Dr. Edison was just finishing the transfer of Capt Sull’s medical records to the data files the Doctor had on all the members of Eureka’s crew when he heard Capt Sull ask for the PADD given to him by Capt Bennet. With a smile and a friendly hand-off to the young Ensign, Maxwell complied with Capt Sull’s wish.

Cmdr Edison: As you wish, Captain. Here you go, Gus! Enjoy your time on the Holodeck with Captain Sull’s dog!

The Chief Medical Officer was going over the Captain’s medical data in his head and thought how it would’ve been prudent to have Capt Sull’s medical records as soon as she was transferred aboard. It would’ve assisted Dr. Edison in determining what was going on with the Captain and made it easier for her to regain her faculties. Next time a new member of the crew joined the ship, the Doctor wanted to be first on the list of persons they check in with when they arrive.

Gus smiled at Dr. Edison as he took the PADD offered by the Doctor. The Ensign was not quite sure how the device had anything to do with Capt Sull's dog, but Gus figured he would find out soon enough.

Ens Montoya: Thank you, Doctor! I will return when the Captain's dog has completed her business on the Holodeck.

The Yeoman waved to both Capt Sull, Capt Bennet, and Lt. JG Kahaa before leaving Sickbay and heading for the Turbolift. Once Gus took his leave from everyone, off the Ensign went about his way to Capt Sull's cabin on Deck 1.

Looking over towards Capt Sull, Claire couldn't help but laugh after Ens Montoya exited Sickbay. Gus was surely going to be in for a surprise once he encountered Azeri's canine companion.

Capt Bennet: Gus is really going to be shocked when Patience starts communicating with him through the PADD. I'd love to see the look on his face when that happens. How long have you had Patience, Azeri?

While the CO waited on a response from Capt Sull, she looked over at Lt. JG Kaaha's parents who were starting to come around from their sleep. As soon as the Lieutenant JG motioned for Claire to come over to greet them, the Captain would escort Dr. Edison to their bedside so she could inform the Orte's that the Doctor is responsible for removing the Xenomorph embryos from their chest cavities.

Azeri smiled as she swallowed a laugh before replying.

Capt Sull: Well, it would have been...about five, maybe even six months now... They closed down that research department on Stardate: 239906.28. They had their funding from Daystrom revoked, something to do with Sheliak Treaty. She's apparently too Sentient for her own good!

The Captain snorted as she made to sit up and winced slightly at the same time. Not due to pain, but from being so still for so long on the surgical steel of the Sickbay Biobed. Azeri followed Claire's gaze over to the Orte's and pondered on just how close they came to making Charrothe an orphan.

Capt Sull: Do you think they will have any lasting psychological effects... I mean to say, will they remember it?

Azeri looked over towards Lt. JG Kaaha's parents and hoped they would never remember. If they had been converted into food or even a hybrid of the Xenomorphs, perhaps it would have been easier on their mental faculties than simply being forced to be hosts for their offspring...

Claire continued looking at Capt Sull as she sat up in the Biobed and spoke to Capt Bennet about the android canine Azeri had with her for the last 6 months. The Captain was a little confused about the Sheliak Treaty though, since Claire had never heard of it before. Capt Bennet thought perhaps it had something to do with the Synth Ban from the attack on Mars back in 2385. But since that was repealed earlier this year, Claire didn’t understand why Patience’s project would’ve been banned.

Capt Bennet: I’m a little confused, Captain. What did the Sheliak have to do with the Synth Ban from 2385 that was repealed earlier this year? As for Lieutenant Kaaha’s parents, I’ll let Dr. Edison answer that one for you…

The CO looked over towards the Chief Medical Officer and nodded her head so he knew to answer Capt Sull’s questions regarding Charrothe’s parents having memories of having the Xenomorph embryos inside them. Now that the Lieutenant JG’s parents were awake, Claire knew she would be going over there with the Doctor to get introduced by Lt. JG Kaaha to his mother and stepfather relatively soon. But before Dr. Edison spoke to Capt Sull, Capt Bennet was waiting for a clear response to her inquiry regarding the Synth Ban and how the Sheliak were involved.

Azeri was not at all surprised by Claire’s bemusement and so she told her all about how the research department were training android canines at the research base on in the Shelia System.

Capt Sull: So you see, it wasn’t exactly a good idea for her to stay there...

The Captain had only just finished as the Good Doctor appeared as if by magic and explained the situation with Charrothe's parents before heading his way over to the Orte’s bedside.

Dr. Edison let Capt Sull know that Lt. JG Kaaha’s parents would unfortunately remember the experience they had of the Facehuggers jumping on their faces and forcing the embryo tubes down their throats. The feeling of suffocation which was followed by a loss of consciousness. In Maxwell’s opinion, it would be a truly horrific memory for them, where they may need time with a Counselor to work through.

Cmdr Edison: Well, Captain…both Mr. Orte and his wife, Lieutenant Kaaha’s mother, will fully recall what happened to them and will most likely require some time with a Counselor to help them work through the process. But knowing that both of their sons are alive and accounted for will bring them the joy that will help them through it. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to check on my patients over there now that they’re awake.

Looking over towards Capt Bennet, Maxwell continued…

Cmdr Edison: Captain Bennet, will you be joining me since I am certain they will want to meet the person in charge who assisted in saving their lives?

The Chief Medical Officer smiled with a nod as he waited for Capt Bennet to approach Lt. JG Kaaha and his parents on the Biobeds on the other side of Sickbay. This would leave Azeri to rest for a while and possibly get something to eat so she could perhaps get up off the Biobed and walk around a little. Exercise along with some good cardio coordination will help with Capt Sull making a full recovery.
