Chase stepped up onto the transporter and looked to the Away Team before turning around to face the Transporter Chief. He double checked that he had the equipment he needed before nodding to the Chief.

Cmdr Ashborn: Energize.

The team dematerialized and rematerialized a few seconds later in the middle of a dark corridor on the vessel closest to falling from orbit. Chase was the first one to activate his wrist light and start looking around. After looking for a minute he turned to the Away Team and issued orders.

Cmdr Ashborn: Okay, since we did not detect any life signs aboard these vessels, I see no harm in breaking into two smaller groups. Kee, Reich, and Elbrun, head to engineering and restore the power. Lieutenant Thompson and I will head to the bridge. Also, keep an eye out for any sign of what might of happened to the crew. After you restore power, I want Kee and Elbrun to search the vessel. Anything you find, I want reported and analyzed.

The Commander looked to the others awaiting any possible responses.

Missing Vessel #1 - Main Corridor  Reply with quote

Paul switched his wrist light on and looked around. He already wasn't very happy to be there. It was looking like something out of a horror movie he used to watch as a kid with his older brother back in Detroit.

Lt. Thompson: This is one creepy situation, if you ask me.

He stood by the Commander, waiting for him to lead the way. Paul wasn't the type of guy who was going to charge off into the darkness. In too many of those movies, it was always the black guy who got killed first, and he was not about to let that happen to him.

Sean looked at Kee and Elbrun, knowing full well that he was in charge of the people left to him. He slowly made his way down the corridor. Keeping to the right side of the corridor, they continued till they came upon a door. It was labeled Main Engineering. This was it. What was going to happen to them when they got in there?

Lt. Commander Reich: Okay, guys, I have no idea what's behind that door. Stick close, and keep an open comlink. The main goal is to restore life support and main power. Secondary objectives is to get these ships in moving condition. If we can't, thats okay. Lets just see what happened over here, and go home!

He nodded at his people, and progressed to the door as it began to open...

Chase went ahead towards the Bridge of the vessel. After all, he was the commanding officer at the moment. One should never instruct others to do that which one is not willing to do ones self, he thought to himself.

Cmdr Ashborn: So Lieutenant, I haven't gotten a chance to read your profile yet. May I ask, what was it that prompted you to become a pilot?

He was attempting to try and ease both of their nerves by a light destraction. He pushed open a door to the right side of the corridor and looked inside the room. It looked as if it were a cabin for some of the crew, Engineer's by the looks of it. He saw nothing in the room that would indicate what had happened to the crew.

He continued to lead the way to a set of steps that went up to the next level. He stopped and waited before heading up. He turned to Lieutenant Thompson to see how he was doing, waiting to get a response.

Main Corridor Stairwell  Reply with quote

Paul looked around with his wrist light as he followed behind the XO. Cmdr Ashborn seemed to know what he was doing, so Paul relaxed a little and responded to his question.

Lt. Thompson: I always enjoyed flying, Sir. My dad was a starfighter pilot in the Marines and I really admired him. He used to take me up in shuttles all the time and taught me how to fly them when I was very young. Ever since then I wanted to be a pilot.

Paul shined the light up the stairwell and smiled, gesturing for the Commander to take the lead.

Sean took the lead, because he was the highest ranking officer in the area. Taking a couple slow steps towards the door, he forced the door open and stepped inside, allowing the other officers to follow behind.

Lt. Commander Reich: Kee, I would like you and Elbrun to focus on getting Life Support operational. I'm going to work on the power problem in here. If ya need anything holler.

He felt better that they were inside with no incident. He was just hoping that they weren't major problems, and they could get these suits off in a timely fashion.

Andrus gave a single nod as he acknowledged LtCmdr Reich. He prepared his phaser rifle for any kind of suprise attacks.

1Lt. Elbrun: Understood. Let's rock and roll shall we?

Andrus smirked at LtCmdr Reich as they started their way into Main Engineering. Although scans picked up no life signs, Andrus still wanted to be careful. He was trained to check to make sure that it was at least safe. Andrus carefully looked into the area and scanned the room before he entered. Afterwards, he made note that Engineering was cleared for the moment and followed LtCmdr Reich in.

As James entered the engine room of the vessel, he used his tricorder to scan the readings in the cold, dark room.

Lt. Kee: Tricorder readings indicate that all of the vessel's systems were manually shut down. There doesn't appear to be any damage at all.

As he walked further in, something in the corner caught his attention. It was somewhat unimaginable. It looked like a large cocoon of some kind that had already been discarded. He used the Tricorder to scan it to see if there was any indication of what this object was.

Lt. Kee: Commander, look at this! Have you ever seen anything like this before?

As he continued to run scans on the object, he waited on LtCmdr Reich's response.

LtCmdr Reich first looked to 1Lt. Elbrun, and then over to Lt. Kee before saying anything.

Lt. Commander Reich: Okay, Mr. Kee, work with Elbrun on getting the systems operational. If they were manually shut down, then it won't be too hard to get them back up and running.

He then looked over in the corner where Kee had pointed out the cocoon. He scanned it with his Tricorder, but hadn't ever seen anything like it before in his career.

Lt. Commander Reich: And as for that thing, we should get the Commander down here to see it.

He tapped his combadge.

Lt. Commander Reich: Reich to bridge, Commander, you should come down here.

He awaited the Commander's arrival, in the mean time, not touching the cocoon in the corner of the room seemed to be a good idea. This could be bad.

Andrus slowly walked into Engineering with the phaser rifle set for any signs of trouble. Once he heard what Lt. Kee said about what he had found, Andrus decided to use his 'senses' to see if they are the only ones there or if they had company. He kept both his eyes and his 'senses' on full alert. He knew that the cocoon was out of the ordinary and didn't like the circumstances, not one bit.

1Lt. Elbrun: I highly recommend we be extremely cautious. What ever was in that cocoon may not be very friendly at all. Considering that there are no crew members here. I think we should have more Marines beamed over to secure the area, if you want my opinion.

Andrus waited on LtCmdr Reich's response.
