Sean looked over to Paul in the Turbolift, and was completely honest with him.

Lt. Commander Reich: I don't want to know what that cocoon was, nor do I want to think about what happened to that crew. All I know is that when I'm asked for my report on it, I'm going to state exactly what I saw. I saw a cocoon, and no crew. That's not a good sign, I'm just glad to be home.

With that, he walked off the Turbolift, and reassumed his position at the Ops station.

Transporter Room  Reply with quote

James removed his helmet and took the Commander's tricorder. He set his helmet back in the locker and headed out of the Transporter room. He started down the corridor towards the Turbolift but didn't get very far before his thoughts suddenly left him. For a moment he felt tired and dizzy, but he took a deep breath and continued on after regaining his thoughts.

I need to get this information to the labs. It's just the suit, get to the lift and undo some of the fastenings. You'll be okay. His thoughts were enough to get James to the lift.

Lt. Kee: Science Labs, Biometrics.

The computer beeped in acknowledgement and the lift started moving down. He started to remove the rest of his environmental suit but stopped and leaned against the wall. His stomach turned and lurched suddenly as the lift came to a halt and the doors opened.

The Lieutenant slowly stepped out of the lift and moved down the corridor, pausing outside of the different doors just long enough for his eyes to focus on the title. When he came to the Biometrics lab, he rushed inside and went straight to the restroom located in the back of the lab.

As soon as the door closed he dropped to his knees and vomited in the toilet. He hung his head there for several minutes as his now empty stomach settled back to a normal state.

Chase was out of his environmental suit inside of three minutes, a personal record for him. He stowed it in the lockers and proceeded to the bridge. He was quite anxious to hear about what the Captain had been informed of.

Cmdr Ashborn: Bridge.

Chase issued the command to the Turbolift immediately as he crossed the threshold into it. He didn't know the Captain very well at this point but he was a pretty good jdge of character and was fairly certain that she would not of pulled the team back without there being a significant risk present.

The Commander patiently waited as the lift proceed upwards to the bridge.

Andrus heard his orders and gave a firm nod once he stepped off of the Transporter pad.

1Lt. Elbrun: Yes, sir.

He quickly removed his Environmental Suit and hurried out of the Transporter Room and down the corridor. Andrus entered the Turbo Lift and instructed it where he wanted to go.

1Lt. Elbrun: Deck 31, Marine Armory.

The Turbo Lift quickly decended to the deck he needed to go to and stopped, the doors opened for him and he quickly made his way out down the corridor, towards the Marine Armory. Once Andrus entered, he started to bark orders to the Marines.

1Lt. Elbrun: Get off of your asses and get moving Marines! We have a delicate and dangerous situation to attend to. We need to get ready for something which none of you have ever seen with your eyes!

The Marines didn't take one second thought to disobey orders and quickly got their gear and their weapons. It took them less than two minutes for all of them to come and stand at attention in front of him. Andrus inspected each one of them before he let Cmdr Ashborn know that they were ready. Each one had passed his inspection. Andrus tapped on his Combadge.

1Lt. Elbrun: Commander Ashborn, my men are ready for action.

He waited on a reply from the XO, figuring he would be deploying the Marines throughout the Oriskany to repell any intruders.

Paul exited the Turbolift behind LtCmdr Reich and took his position at the Conn Station. He examined his console to check the settings and monitored their current position. As he continued, he whispered to the SO.

Lt. Thompson: I still have a bad feeling about this. We should just get out of here.

With that being said, he monitored his console and was ready for any orders to be given to him.

Sean sat at his console, monitoring everything going on, then whispered back to Paul.

Lt. Commander Reich: I feel the same way, but I figure that as long as we're here, we're going to live...at least for now. Other than that, I should have brought an extra pair of boxers up here with me as a "just in case" kind of deal.

He was scared, but being the Second Officer on the ship, he wasn't allowed to express it, so he sat there motionless, only letting Paul know exactly what was going on in his head.

As the CO awaited the arrival of the XO; she began giving orders to the officers on the Bridge.

Capt Harris: Mr. Reich, locate the vessel that's in danger of being brought into the planet's atmosphere and destroyed first, and prepare to tow it to a safe distance using the ship's Tractor Beam. Mr. Thompson, standby to set a course for the vessel Mr. Reich locates.

She waited on the SO for his acknowledgement before issuing more orders.

Sean turned around and looked at the captain after she gave him his orders. He couldn't help but smile at her.

Lt. Commander Reich: Awwww, shucks captain. I thought you were going to give me something hard to do.

He fiddled with the console a little bit, then reported back to her.

Lt. Commander Reich: I'm ready when Mr. Thompson is.

Sean looked over at Paul and grinned.

Lt. Commander Reich: Don't miss Paul. I don't think we are gonna get another shot at this. And, of course, theres nothing like a little pressure to add to the mix of things.

He sat there and waited to see what happened next.

Paul received the coordinates of the vessel that was going to be destroyed in the planet's atmosphere the soonest from LtCmdr Reich and set a course straight for it.

Lt. Thompson: Course laid in, Captain.

As he waited on her command to manuver the Oriskany to the vessel in distress he looked over towards Sean and whispered.

Lt. Thompson: Stress? What's dat? I don't see no stress around here, we be cool as sitting ducks...er...I mean cucumbers.

Paul wiped the beads of sweat from his upper lip and forehead and then smiled hesitantly back at Sean.

The CO wanted to get started right away with the salvaging process, she knew time was a luxury they did not have.

Capt Harris: Ahead one-quarter impulse power, Mr. Thompson. Mr. Reich, stand ready with that Tractor Beam.

She waited on their actions and responses as she leaned back in her chair.
