Sickbay  Reply with quote

Dr. Sarrlak worked with his medical staff repairing what they could in Sickbay after their encounter with the Deltaurans. As he worked silently he thought about the loss of his assistant, Lt. JG Carter. He was pleased with her performance as a medical officer. Samantha had a lot of potential and Starfleet Medical will mourn her loss as well as Sarrlak knew he would.

Zac worked alongside the rest of his Engineers keeping Infiniti moving steadily, with the SS Kankakee in tow. It wasn't too much of a drain on the ship's systems to tow the vessel as long as they remained at the current speed. It was hard on Zac not to see or hear Ensign Olin with the rest of his staff. He even noticed that Ensign Liebowitz was acting solemn. Engineering wasn't going to be the same without Sena.

Marine Recreation Room  Reply with quote

Gunnery Sergeant Arbor sat in the Rec Room and watched the squad play their games, socialize, and relax. The events that occured on this mission constantly replayed in his mind. Cody couldn't believe Bath'Ney lost his mind and killed 1Lt. Gorman then planned on leading the entire squad to their deaths against the invading Deltaurans. GSgt. Arbor knew that losing a spouse was traumatic, but it was not reason enough to lead your men on a suicide mission. Not to mention killing your 2nd in command in cold blood. There was no excuse for that at all. Cody knew he was going to have to testify at Major Bath'Ney's court martial. He wasn't looking forward to it, but it was his duty and knew it was something he had to do. What the Major did was inexcusably wrong and needed to be punished for it.

Bridge  Reply with quote

Aléjandro kept Infiniti moving through space at a safe velocity so that Kankakee could be returned to SB34 completely intact. At the slower speed they had to travel, the hours that passed seemed like days since they had to go by the book. As Infiniti grew closer to their home port, Aléjandro knew it also meant the conclusion of their second mission. One that he knew Commodore Carpathia would classify as a disaster since there was so much loss of life.

As the time went by, he too, was sinking into a feeling of unhappiness but it was cut off sharply when his console display indicated they were coming up on SB34's outer marker. It wouldn't be long now. Soon they would be dropping out of warp, to approach on Impulse speeds. Aléjandro tapped the companel and made the announcement.

Lt. Commander Delgado: This is Delgado calling all Senior Staff members. We're approaching the outer marker for Starbase 34. Begin making preparations for Space Dock approach. Delgado out.

Aléjandro knew it wouldn't be long before the Senior Staff was back on the Bridge. They wanted to be home just as much as he did, some even more. LtCmdr Delgado waited on them to arrive.

CO's Quarters  Reply with quote

The CO sprang up from his coma and ran to take a shower, cleaned himself, then collided with the furnishing as he got dressed. Once E.J. was done he sprang out of his quarters and into the Turbo Lift and went straight to the Bridge. Upon arrival, he exited and walked directly to his chair and planted himself.

Como Carpathia: Mr. Delgado, speak to me. What's our ETA to the outer marker?

The sleep must have done him well since E.J felt much better than he did before. As the CO waited on Al?jandro's answer, he looked around the Bridge at the officers at their stations. These people seriously need a vacation. he thought to himself, As a matter of fact, I need one too!

Bridge  Reply with quote

Al?jandro looked down at the calculation he already figured since he knew the CO would be on the Bridge rather quickly.

Lt. Commander Delgado: You're looking at twenty-two minutes, Commodore.

Once Infiniti reached the outer marker, it would be time to secure from warp speed and hail SB34's Approach Traffic Control and request clearance to the Space Dock doors.

The Commodore was openly pleased with the amount of time there was left before returning to SB34. He wanted this mission to be over and get his crew back to a safe haven as soon as possible, and get Infiniti repaired even sooner.

Como Carpathia: Outstanding, Mr. Delgado! The sooner we get back, the sooner I can send my galant crew on extended leave while Infiniti gets repaired.

E.J. heard the atmosphere on the Bridge pick up those words as they echoed off the walls. He knew that would cheer them up. The CO realized as he slept that it was important to remember the crew members that lost their lives, but it was even more important to remember the crew members that survived. He needed to be there for them, and indeed he was going to be.

William smiled from behind his console at the Ops Station when he heard the Commodore mention 'extended leave'. He began thinking of places he was hoping Kestra would be accompaning him to, so they could spend time together.

Lt. Trylon: I know we could all use one after this ordeal, Sir.

William continued monitoring their approach to the outer marker, which didn't last long at all. He excitedly informed the CO that they were now in SB34's controlled area.

Lt. Trylon: Commodore, we've passed the outer marker into Starbase 34's ATC area.

The Lieutenant waited on any orders the CO had for him to carry out. It was hard to conceal the excitement of finally making it back after dealing with such a nightmarish situation.

This was the news the CO was waiting for! E.J. gave his orders in a clear and precise manner, just to be certain they wouldn't be misunderstood.

Como Carpathia: Mr. Trylon, contact SB34 Approach Traffic Control and let them know we're heading in with Kankakee in tow. Mr. Delgado, drop us out of warp speed and proceed at half Impulse power.

The Commodore waited on his orders to be carried out as he sat calmy in his Command Chair. As E.J. re-evaluated the outcome of the mission, he still couldn't help but think about the 57 members of his crew that were not coming back.

Al?jandro did exactly as the CO ordered and dropped Infiniti out of warp speed and kept them moving at full Impulse Power.

Lt. Commander Delgado: Secured from warp speed, ahead at half Impulse Power, Commodore.

Al?jandro monitored his console and their approach into Starbase 34 traffic area. He never liked the sudden surprise of a private shuttle flight taking the chance to do a close fly-by of a Federation Starship.
