Bridge - Deck 1

Doing as the Captain ordered, Michaelangelo pulled up the manifests of the vessels in the immediate area and forwarded them to the Cmdr Kee's PADD. Once the transfer was complete, LtCmdr Boffi informed Capt Marino and the XO.

Lt. Commander Boffi: Transfer of data complete.

The Chief Ops Officer maintained scanning the area for anything that needed to be reported. Intruders of any kind would be reported immediately to the Captain along with anything else he found to be anomalous.

James stood up from the Executive Officer's chair and looked down at his PADD, checking the data received from LtCmdr Boffi. The XO decided that he shall lead the first Away Mission onto the closest abandoned vessel, called the SS Oruga. He thought he would need the Science Officer, their Sec/Tac Officer and of course the Counselor in the event they did find somebody alive.

Cmdr Kee: Mr. Joffee, Mr. D'Shoua, Counselor Elbrun, you're with me!

The Commander waited by the Turbolift for the three officers to join him. He figured Jared was getting his chance at an Away Mission again, but this time it wasn't as dangerous as disarming Matter/Anti-Matter explosives with a proximity detonator. James was sure the Sec/Tac Officer was looking for an opportunity to go out there and rescue some survivors. The XO was sure Michael and Kestra felt the same way.

LtCmdr Joffee got up from his seat at the Science Station and walked over to join Cmdr Kee by the Turbolift for the Away Mission. Michael figured they may have a better chance scanning for life forms while they were actually aboard, using a Tricorder specifically designed to penetrate any lifesign dampening device. If they did find someone, they may need medical attention so the Lieutenant Commander made a suggestion to the XO.

Lt. Commander Joffee: Commander, I think it would be a good idea to bring Dr. Jovic along. Just in case we run into somebody who needs medical attention.

The Chief Science Officer smiled at the Commander, hoping his suggestion wasn't made in vain. Michael looked over at Jared and Kestra to see if they were on their way over to join them as well. That way they could ride down to the Transporter Room on Deck 6 together, where they would beam over to the SS Oruga.

Jared secured the Sec/Tac Station and walked over to the Turbolift where Cmdr Kee and LtCmdr Joffee were waiting. He recommended they bring some of the new Modified Assault Phaser Rifles with them since they were test proven to be effective against the Deltaurans, should they come across a straggler while searching for survivors.

Lt. Commander D'Shoua: I recommend we bring the Modified Assault Phaser Rifles with us, just in case we run across a stray Deltauran that wasn't wiped out last time we were out this way.

The Chief Sec/Tac Officer nodded at the XO as his way of saying the decision to bring the weapons of his choice was highly recommended. If they ran across one of those horrid creatures and weren't properly equipped to deal with it, the end result could be disastrous for them all.

LtCmdr Elbrun rose up from the chair to the left of Capt Marino and went over to where Cmdr Kee, LtCmdr Joffee and LtCmdr D'Shoua were waiting for her by the Turbolift. Kestra smiled at the three of them as she announced she was ready to join them on the Away Mission.

Lt. Commander Elbrun: I'm ready for this Away Mission, Commander.

The Counselor stood there ready to get in the lift along with the others. Kestra was excited to get over to the SS Oruga and see if she could sense the minds of anyone hiding aboard the abandoned vessel. If she was able to sense them, finding them would become a lot easier.

With the Away Team all but assembled, James took Michael's advice and tapped his Combadge to call to their Chief Medical Officer. If they did locate a survivor, Dr. Jovic's medical expertise would be invaluable if needed.

Cmdr Kee: Kee to Dr. Jovic! Meet us in Transporter Room 1 for an Away Mission to an abandoned vessel, bring a standard issue MedKit in case we find any survivors!

The XO entered the Turbolift along with LtCmdr Joffee, LtCmdr D'Shoua and Counselor Elbrun and rode it down to Deck 6 and exited. They walked a short distance together to Transporter Room 1 and entered where they geared up for the mission at hand. Armed with the Modified Assault Phaser Rifles as Jared suggested, they waited on Dr. Jovic to arrive.

Chief Medical Officer's Office - Deck 12

The Doctor heard the call from Cmdr Kee and quickly grabbed her Medkit off the shelf in her office and moved swiftly down the corridor to the lift where she took it to Deck 6. Dragana stepped out of the Turbolift and walked at a fast pace to Transporter Room 1 and entered.

Cmdr Jovic: I'm here as ordered, Commander. Last time we did this we came back with Alexander aboard the Mariposa. Let's see who we'll find this time...

The Chief Medical Officer already had her Medical Tricorder with her and she received a Modified Assault Hand Phaser to wear at her waist. She was ready to go and stepped up onto the Transporter Pad and waited for the others to join her. The Transporter Chief at the controls indicated the interior of the SS Oruga was pressurized with a breathable atmosphere, so they would be safe to beam over as soon as the XO gave the word.

Transporter Room 1 - Deck 6

Now that everyone on the Away Team was standing on the Transporter Pads, James gave the order to dematerialize the 5 of them from Sutherland and begin the process of beaming them over to the interior of the SS Oruga where they would materialize so their search could begin.

Cmdr Kee: Energize.

As the Away Team beamed over to the abandoned vessel, they transported without incident. Materializing in an area that was just down the corridor from the Bridge, they walked the short distance and entered the Command Center and looked around. Using their Tricorders, they began to scan the area checking for any lifeforms that may be using an inhibitor. Unfortunately, the range of their scanning devices in this mode was limited so they would have to walk around the Oruga slowly and cover as much area as possible. James tapped his Combadge and called over to Sutherland to let Capt Marino know they beamed over successfully.

Cmdr Kee: Kee to Sutherland! We've beamed over to the Oruga successfully! I'll keep you apprised of what we find! Kee out!

During their examination of the Bridge consoles, the XO made a request of Counselor Elbrun that would aid in their search for any survivors.

Cmdr Kee: Kestra, do you sense anybody in the area?

While the Commander waited to hear from the Counselor on her findings, James checked the cargo manifest and could see that nothing was missing from the list of items being displayed. The XO was pleased to see that Capt Narrad-Sar's people did not take it upon themselves to pilfer any of the items aboard this ship. There was a foul smell however, coming from the Flesh Pods, the remains of what was left of a victim of the Deltaurans procreation process. There were a few of them on the Bridge for Dr. Jovic to examine to see if the remains could be identified with the assistance of LtCmdr Joffee. As for Jared, he kept a watchful eye on his scanning device the he attached to his weapon so if something was to leap out at them...it would lead to it's demise.

Bridge - Deck 1

While Michaelangelo was running sensor scans of the area around the Class J planet in the Zathura System, he received a communication from Cmdr Kee and placed it over the speaker system on the Bridge for Capt Marino to hear. That way the Captain would know the current status of the Away Team.

Lt. Commander Boffi: Captain, would you like me to keep a constant Transporter lock on the Away Team in the event of any unforeseen circumstances?

The Chief Ops Officer waited to hear back from Capt Marino on his option to keep the Transporter locked on the Away Team so they could be beamed back to Sutherland just in case some trouble should arise. LtCmdr Boffi was glad he wasn't there with them. He knew first hand of the way the bodies of the victims were so grossly disfigured and was happy not to have to see them again.

Lou nodded in agreement at LtCmdr Boffi's suggestion. It was a very prudent safety protocol to remember for an Away Team in a possibly dangerous situation.

Capt Marino: Yes, Mr. Boffi! Keep the Transporter locked on the Away Team, just in case they need emergency beam out, also keep a com-channel open to Commander Kee!

The Captain also wanted to alert LtCol Carrera to the situation at hand.

Capt Marino: Colonel Carrera, inform the Wildcards they're protecting an Away Team aboard the Oruga now! I want to know the minute anything is detected out there!

The CO was glad the Away Team made it over to the SS Oruga safely and hoped they would stay that way throughout the mission to find survivors on the abandoned vessels.
