The XO arrived on the Bridge with Lt. Mitchell in tow, where the Lieutenant took his station and Thom walked down and took the his seat while asking LtCmdr Centares what the status of Event Horizon was. If the ship was now ready to get out of the area, the Commander would contact Inquisitor Dak’Aar so he could teleport himself aboard and together they would leave the Trivas System and head for a safe haven. Far away from the fleet of hostile Emerald Chain vessels, whose goal it was to capture Event Horizon and enslave the entire crew!

Cmdr Cypher: Ajay, what’s our status? Cole, standby to contact the Inquisitor inside the moon, he’ll be setting the self-destruct and teleporting himself aboard as soon as we give the word that we’re ready to depart the Trivas System. Once that moon detonates, it should cover our escape from the area and give us a chance to hide and contact Starbase 34 to let them know our situation.

The Commander waited to hear back from LtCmdr Centares on the status of their ship so he could contact Inquisitor Dak’Aar and let him know he could set the self-destruct and teleport aboard. Thom thought about how Capt Little was about to miss out on the most exciting part of this mission so far, by choosing to turn his brain off in order to seclude himself from the responsibility of commanding Event Horizon and doing what he could to get the crew home. This was obviously going to be his loss if he ever woke up to find himself back on SB34 in a Biobed wondering how he got there. Unfortunately for the Captain, he’ll be returned to his rank of Commander and be reassigned to Oriskany as their Chief Engineer and not even be aware of it till he decides to wake up and resume his career.

The Lieutenant Commander immediately responded to Cmdr Cypher with the current status of Event Horizon. That way the XO would know all there is regarding their current position so he could assist his new friend in escaping with them out of the Trivas System.

Lt. Commander Centares: Good to see you, Commander! We’re currently a thousand meters above the surface of the moon. Landing gear has been retracted. Our Chief Engineer reports all engines are at the ready! Once our new friend arrives, I can plot us a course out of the system, Sir!

The Chief Flight Control Officer kept Event Horizon in a stationary position as they waited on the new ally to arrive. Ajay was happy to be at the Flight Control Station again, not to mention piloting the vessel once more. LtCmdr Centares was looking forward to Lt. JG DeGrazzio announcing the Transdimensional Beacon was functional and ready to broadcast a message back to SB34. But first they had to escape from the hostile fleet approaching…

Thom was pleased with the current status of the ship and the officer he left in charge while he was gone. It was a shame that Capt Little was missing out on all of the good work of his officers during this crisis. The XO thanked LtCmdr Centares and then addressed Lt. Mitchell on contacting the Inquisitor down below the surface of Trivadia Core so he can set the self-destruct and teleport himself up to Event Horizon.

Cmdr Cypher: Thank you, Ajay. Keep us in position until I give the word it’s time to go. Cole, open a channel to Inquisitor Dak’Aar. We need to let him know we’re ready to get out of here.

The Commander waited on Lt. Mitchell to get a hold of Inquisitor Dak’Aar through the ship’s communications. Once the Inquisitor was aboard Event Horizon, Thom was going to give the order to get them out of the system as fast as possible so they wouldn’t be too close to Trivadia Core when it exploded. If the explosion was large enough to mask their departure from the system, it was going to be quite huge and the XO wanted the ship nowhere near it when it exploded.

The Lieutenant did exactly what he was ordered to do by the XO and opened a hailing frequency to the moon below them. Once the channel was established with the Inquisitor, Cole notified the Commander he could now inform their new ally of their intentions.

Lt. Mitchell: Channel open, Sir!

The Chief Operations Officer began using the sensors to scan for the hostile fleet of ships approaching the area and could see that they were well on their way to Event Horizon’s current location. According to the long range sensors, the fleet will be at their location in 10 minutes! Cole felt this was important enough to inform Cmdr Cypher of the fleet’s impeding arrival.

Lt. Mitchell: Commander, at our current location the hostile fleet is ten minutes away from us! Recommend we engage the Cloaking Device as soon as possible!

Cole hoped the device tasked with making Event Horizon invisible to the approaching fleet would be operating at peak performance! Now would be a really bad time for it to malfunction, considering today, back on Earth it was a very unlucky day! Lt. Mitchell said a prayer under his breath that all will go well with their escape from these hostiles rapidly approaching from the outer edge of the Trivas System.

The XO was ready to speak with Inquisitor Dak'Aar and tapped the Companel by the First Officer's chair on the Bridge and contacted their new ally down inside Trivadia Core. While doing so, Thom considered what Cole said about engaging the Cloaking Device which would be done as soon as the Inquisitor was safely aboard.

Cmdr Cypher: Inquisitor Dak'Aar, this is Commander Thomas Cypher aboard Event Horizon. We are ready for you to teleport here as soon as you set the self-destruct. Once you're safely aboard, we'll be high tailing it right out of this system. Please acknowledge...

The Commander sat silently in the First Officer's chair and waited to hear back from Inquisitor Dak'Aar. As soon as the Ba'Dassian was safely aboard Event Horizon, Thom would give the order to cloak the ship and engage full Impulse power away from the moon until they were far enough a way for a safe jump to Warp Speed using the Coaxial Warp Drive.

Tollus heard Cmdr Cypher calling from Event Horizon and quickly responded while getting the self-destruct ready to detonate the entire moon with the help of the fusion reactor at the core. Even though he was living in exile for many years on Trivadia Core since the murder of his family at the hands of the Emerald Chain, the thought of never seeing this place again and going on a new adventure was quite exhilarating! All of the holographic images and personal data on his family were already transferred to transportable media so Tollus could bring all his memories along with him. Tapping the communication panel, the Inquisitor responded to the Commander.

Inquisitor Dak’Aar: I am setting the self-destruct right now, Commander Cypher. I will teleport aboard in a few moments, see you soon.

The Inquisitor set the self-destruct to detonate Trivadia Core in 5 minutes and began the process that would cause the fusion reactor to explode, taking the entire moon with it. Tollus picked up his personal items along with all the data chips and placed them in a travel bag, then used his arm controller to teleport himself to the Bridge of Event Horizon. One second later the Inquisitor found himself standing there on the Command Deck where he saw Cmdr Cypher seated in one of the two center seats, the other he assumed was for Capt Little who surprisingly was not present.

Inquisitor Dak’Aar: We have five minutes until the detonation of Trivadia Core, Commander. I suggest we leave the system as soon as possible.

Tollus stood on the Bridge and looked around to see if Lt. JG DeGrazzio was on the Bridge too, but he was not there. The Inquisitor figured the Lieutenant JG must be working on the Transdimensional Beacon so they could get a message home. Tollus was curious to see exactly how fast this ship could go and had a feeling he was about to get a first hand view of the top velocity of Event Horizon very soon. The Inquisitor's new adventure was about to begin...

Thom immediately called over to LtCmdr Graham and informed him to engage the cloaking device before informing LtCmdr Centares to bring up the Impulse Engine to full power to get them out of the immediate area before he brought Event Horizon to Warp Speed! It was truly time for them to depart the Trivas System and escape the vile clutches of the Emerald Chain!

Cmdr Cypher: Peter, engage the Cloaking Device immediately! Ajay, get us out of here on full Impulse! Once we’re clear, maximum Warp!

The XO moved over to the CO’s chair since Capt Little was too occupied with the goings on in his own mind to come to the surface and resume his duty as Captain. Thom motioned for the Inquisitor to take the XO’s chair so he wouldn’t have to stand during their rapid departure.

Cmdr Cypher: Take my chair, Inquisitor Dak’Aar. That way you can have a seat and watch us do what we do best.

The Commander would’ve had Yeoman Jo’Kla bring the Inquisitor’s travel bag to the VIP Guest Quarters, but he turned out to be a traitorous petaQ who killed Prof Brewer, attempted to kill Jayden and messed with the TDD which got them lost in Universe C-57D before committing suicide on the Bridge! Perhaps the pressure of all of this broke Capt Little’s brain? It was beneficial to the crew of Event Horizon they had an XO with the ability to remain focused on getting his crew out of danger and back home if possible.

Peter did as Cmdr Cypher ordered and immediately engaged the Cloaking Device! Event Horizon completely vanished from anyone peering in their direction, and their sensors too...at least to the best of their knowledge. The best rule of thumb when jumping from one universe to another is that you know absolutely nothing!

Lt. Commander Graham: Cloaking Device engaged, Commander!

The Chief Sec/Tac Officer was feeling exhilarated about finally getting away from this area and no longer being in any danger of becoming a slave of the Emerald Chain! With the lighting on the Bridge illuminating to indicate Event Horizon was cloaked, the next thing to do was get this ship out of the area so it did not become part of the explosion of the moon's reactor detonation.

Doing as the XO ordered, Ajay accelerated Event Horizon to full Impulse leaving the moon far in it's wake. With the Main Viewscreen showing the departure angle, Trivadia Core could be seen moving quickly into the distance.

Lt. Commander Centares: Moving ahead at Full Impulse, Sir! We'll be going to Warp once we're clear of all the asteroid field.

As the asteroid field approached, Ajay maneuvered Event Horizon through it like a YT-1300 light freighter!

Lt. Commander Centares: Here's goes nothing!

Piloting the Nova Class Starship through the asteroid field was no easy task, but Ajay did a superb job at it. From taking starboard and port hard turns to avoid collisions to doing full barrel rolls on occasion in order to shake off any chances of getting hit by smaller asteroids. Unfortunately, the asteroid field was much larger than anticipated and it was going to take a few minutes until Event Horizon would be clear of it.

The Doctor looked over Capt Little with the use of his Medical Tricorder and could not find anything physically wrong with him, other than the Captain staring at the ceiling and blinking on occasion. Dr. Tudismaque feared this may happen with an officer too inexperienced with Command to take on the responsibilities of becoming the Captain of a mission like this. Jacques needed to run a mental scan of Capt Little, which he could do without the assistance of Lt. JG DeGrazzio.

Lt. JG Tudismaque: I need to run a mental proficiency exam of the Captain and see what’s going on in his head. You don’t have to wait here for the results; it is going to take me a while. You should be on your way to the TDD Compartment and get to work on that Beacon, Jayden. Sounds like this is a good time to get a message back to Starbase 34.

The Chief Medical Officer walked over to a medical supply locker and removed the Synaptic Monitoring Apparatus and went back to Capt Little and placed it on his head. With this device, Dr. Tudismaque would be able to ascertain what was going on inside the Captain’s brain. Once the examination was complete, Jacques would be able to give Cmdr Cypher an accurate account of what happened to Capt Little. The Doctor felt Event Horizon lift off from the moon and start moving at Impulse, but couldn’t for the life of him figure out why the ship was maneuvering the way it was. The Inertial Dampening System was working fine, but Jacques could still feel sharp turns on occasion.
