Marko noticed the silence between LtCmdr Sull and Ens Montoya and used the opportunity to report Infiniti's ETA to the extraction site to Capt Bennet and Cmdr Sladek.

Ens Ramius: Captain Bennet, Commander Sladek, it appears the Starship Infiniti is closing in on the extraction site, according to sensor readings they're about ten minutes out.

The Chief Operations Officer listened for any orders to come from either the Captain or the Executive Officer in regard to the information Marko gave them on the Intrepid Class Starship now on approach to the extraction area.

Claire looked upon the Main Viewer and could see the icon of Infiniti approaching the extraction area that Ens Ramius had on display as Marko announced to the Captain and XO that Como Carpathia's vessel was 10 minutes from being above the evacuation zone. The Captain looked over towards Cmdr Sladek and gave Ulric instructions to issue to the appropriate members of the crew to prepare for the arrival of the refugees.

Capt Bennet: We need to prepare for the arrival of the children Infiniti will be sending up our way. Make it so, Number One!

The CO waited for the XO to take charge of the situation and make the necessary preparations for the arriving child refugees from the rainy surface of the valley New Rakantha was nestled in. Claire was extremely proud of her crew and knew they would be able to handle the incoming children when they arrived. Capt Bennet was especially proud of LtCmdr Sull, for had it not been for her idea, there's no way all the refugees would've made it off New Bajor once the Xenomorphs attacked the extraction site.

Ulric nodded to Capt Bennet and rose from his chair and addressed the following officers to begin the preparation for the arrival of the refugees. First the Commander ordered Ens Ramius to prepare the Transporter Arrays to be able to receive the signal from Infiniti when they beamed the children up from the surface.

Cmdr Sladek: Ensign Ramius, get the Transporter Arrays ready to receive the refugees from Infiniti. We want to be prepared when they're ready to send us up the children. Since we'll be using the Deflector Dish to absorb the Transporter signal from Commodore Carpathia's ship, make sure there's nobody near it just in case we get an overload.

The Commander then looked over at Ens Montoya, and told him to prepare the areas in the lower decks for the refugees, this way they weren't standing in the corridors aimlessly.

Cmdr Sladek: Ensign Montoya, we need you to go down to the lower decks and prepare places for the children. We don't want them roaming the corridors and getting into any unforeseen situations. So they need to be someplace secure until we bring them to Starbase 34. Do you think you can handle that, Yeoman?

The XO waited on Marko and Gus to acknowledge their orders and begin making the necessary preparations for the soon to be arriving refugees. Ulric was sure both Ensigns had the know-how to get their assigned tasks complete before it was Eureka's turn to take on the children from New Bajor.

The Ensign heard the XO and immediately began making the preparations to receive a large number of refugees through the Transporter emitters located throughout the exterior of Eureka. Marko then sent a notification to anyone in the maintenance areas around the Navigational Deflector Array, to be clear of the vicinity in the event of an overload.

Ens Ramius: Aye, Commander! Systems are prepared for the arrival of the refugees and I sent a warning to anyone in the maintenance areas near the Deflector Dish. The area should be clear of any personnel when the time comes, Sir.

The Chief Operations Officer monitored his console to make sure there was nothing out of the ordinary that could jeopardize the transport of the children up to the California Class vessel from Infiniti which would be hovering above the extraction site in just under 10 minutes. Marko wanted to be sure he could bypass anything that could go wrong by compensating for it in advance to it posing a problem.

Gus nodded to Cmdr Sladek as he rose up from his chair, to the left of Capt Bennet and to the right of where LtCmdr Sull was seated. The Ensign figured he could ready the Holodecks to be used as a temporary housing area for the refugees, along with the Recreation Area and even the Shuttlebays. Gus knew the corridors were no place for the children to be sitting while they went to their new assigned Starbase. Since the Yeoman would be in the lower decks for a while, he offered the chair back to LtCmdr Sull.

Ens Montoya: Aye, Commander Sladek! I'll get down to the Holodecks and prepare them for the arrival of the refugees. I'll also check the Rec Area and Shuttlebays to make sure they are available to house the children so they will not be in the corridors. Lieutenant Commander Sull, you can have the chair since I will be down in the lower decks for a while.

The Yeoman walked to the Turbolift and proceeded to Deck 6, where the Holodecks were located and got them ready for the arriving refugees. This took Gus some time as he wanted to make sure the bulk of the children could relax in comfort on their way to Starbase 34. After the Ensign felt the 3 Holodecks were ready, he proceeded to the Recreation Area of Eureka on Deck 9 and had cots and robes laid out so the child refugees could lay down in there. After this area was ready, Gus went to the Shuttlebays on Deck 8 and did the same. Ens Montoya felt that the bay doors should be closed so the children were not frightened of space being just beyond the force fields that shuttles passed through when exiting and entering the Shuttlebays. The Ensign closed the doors after the cots were laid out with robes on them to keep the children warm when they arrived since Gus knew they would still be wet, from all the rain down at the extraction site.

While Marko carefully watched the approach of Infiniti towards the extraction site, he called out to Capt Bennet, Cmdr Sladek and LtCmdr Sull to inform them the Intrepid Class Starship was now in its position to start the process of beaming the refugees up to the ships waiting in orbit.

Ens Ramius: Infiniti has reached the extraction area! Once they're ready, they'll start beaming the medically examined refugees up here to the ships in orbit. I'm not sure if we're last on the list, or the first since it was Lieutenant Commander Sull's idea that put this rescue into action. Either way, we're ready when it's our time to receive.

The Chief Operations Officer monitored Infiniti to see which vessel would be getting the first load of refugees up from the surface. Marko hoped that since it was LtCmdr Sull's idea for Infiniti to be down there, that Eureka would be the first Starship to be loaded with the surviving children that way they could depart for SB34, their new base of operations in the Gamma Quadrant.

Claire heard Marko's report of Infiniti reaching the extraction site rather quickly and responded to the Ensign, that way it didn't go without a response. The Captain was pleased the Commodore and his vessel made it there so quickly.

Capt Bennet: That's excellent, Mr. Ramius! Keep the systems standing by, I've got a feeling we'll be receiving our share of the refugees anytime now.

The CO waited to hear if LtCmdr Sull had anything to add to what she had said to Ens Ramius. Claire wanted to keep the former Captain involved in what was going on since it was Azeri's plan that has been set in motion.

Marko did what Capt Bennet had ordered and kept the systems standing by as he replied to the Captain. The Ensign did wonder how long it would take before Infiniti began sending refugees their way.

Ens Ramius: Aye, Ma'am! All Transporter systems are standing by!

As the Ensign was monitoring his console on the Bridge, Marko saw that a message arrived from Infiniti! It appeared that they were going to be receiving refugees as soon as their Engineer was prepared! Which appeared to be right now!

Ens Ramius: Captain! We're getting a message from Infiniti! Their Chief Engineer has informed Commodore Carpathia that they're ready to start beaming refugees up from the surface directly to Eureka! We just need to provide the coordinates for where on our ship we would like them to beam the children. Should I supply Infiniti with the coordinates to our Holodecks, Recreation Area, and the Shuttlebays, Captain?!

The Chief Operations Officer got ready to send the coordinates of the Holodecks on Deck 6, the Shuttlebays on Deck 8, and the Recreation Area on Deck 9. All Marko needed was for Capt Bennet to give the word, and the Ensign would send the locations where to beam up the refugees to Eureka. Afterwards, they can make their way to Starbase 34 upon the Captain's command.

The Captain heard all that Ens Ramius had reported to her regarding Infiniti's readiness to start transporting the refugees up to Eureka. Rising from her chair, Claire went to the center of the Bridge and instructed Marko on what to do next.

Capt Bennet: Make it so, Ensign! I'll inform Mr. Montoya the refugees are on their way up.

Tapping her Combadge, Capt Bennet called to Ens Montoya who was still located below decks.

Capt Bennet: Bennet to Ensign Montoya! Infiniti will be transporting the refugees up shortly. Standby for their arrival, Gus!

The CO stood in the center of the Bridge and waited on Infiniti to begin the beaming of all the refugees Eureka can accommodate in the areas prepared by Ens Montoya. Once they reached capacity, Claire will contact Adm Arayuss to see if they're clear to depart for SB34.

Marko did what Capt Bennet told him to do and forwarded the coordinates for the locations the Captain wanted Infiniti to transport the refugees safely throughout the interior of Eureka. As soon as the Ensign was complete with his task, he informed Capt Bennet that his deed was done.

Ens Ramius: Coordinates sent to Infiniti, Captain!

As the Chief Operations Officer waited for the areas specified by Capt Bennet and Ens Montoya to be suddenly filled to capacity, Marko monitored his Station for the arrival of the refugees. The Ensign knew it wouldn't be long at all before Infiniti would beam the children from New Bajor over to the California Class vessel.
